Diploma in Business Management

Program Objective

The University of Malaya Diploma in Business Management program is offered to school leavers interested in pursuing a career in business management. This program will provide students with the skills and knowledge in total and integrated aspects of business management, and is suitable for those wishing to acquire a sound understanding of all aspects of business. Students will be trained in all functional areas of management of a business such as accounting, management, marketing, and human resource management that can be beneficial for career development and organisational development, and foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among the students.

Career and Academic Pathway

Graduates of the Diploma in Business Management program have the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor Degree in a related field at local universities. They will be qualified to apply for the post of Assistant Business Development officers at private companies and Government Linked Companies (GLCs). Graduates are also qualified to hold various positions such as Executive Assistants up to management level in an organisation.


Fully Accredited by MQA (SWA0629) and recognised by JPA.

Class Schedule

Students will take 3 to 6 courses every semester.   


Examinations will be held at the last week of each semester. 


The Diploma in Business Management will be awarded by University of Malaya.

Teaching Methodology

This program is taught  through lectures, discussions, presentations, projects and case studies. 

Degree Studies

Students who successfully complete the diploma can apply to the University of Malaya for admission to its degree programs. Students can also transfer to the International University of Malaya - Wales in Kuala Lumpur to complete their degree.
